Jet Charter Vegas arranges private flights for family offices in Las Vegas and Henderson, from a single trip for a principal to the year-round travel of a whole household. The person arranging it might be a family member, an assistant or a staff member who handles travel alongside everything else, and we work with whoever that is.
Choosing the closest Las Vegas airport
If the family lives in Summerlin, Henderson or Southern Highlands, the closest airport may not be Harry Reid International. North Las Vegas (KVGT), on the northwest side of the valley, can be the shorter drive from Summerlin. Henderson Executive (KHND), about eleven miles south of Las Vegas, is the easier choice for Henderson, Lake Las Vegas and Southern Highlands. Your advisor will check the drive from the house and suggest the airport that suits each trip.
Second homes and regular trips
A lot of family flying repeats through the year. There are weekends in Southern California, ski trips to the Rockies, Sun Valley or Tahoe, and winter vacations in Cabo. You will deal with the same advisor each time. We keep the family’s preferences on aircraft, catering, pets and ground transportation on file, so a request in December does not mean re-explaining everything for a trip in July.
When the family aircraft is not available
Some families own an aircraft. When it is in for scheduled maintenance, has a mechanical problem, or is already committed to another trip, we can arrange a charter to cover the gap. If the family is thinking about buying an aircraft, we also help with aircraft sales and acquisition. Chartering for a season first is a practical way to learn which size of aircraft would work best for the household.
Keeping the family’s travel private
Passenger names and travel plans go only to the operator and the crew assigned to the flight. If the family needs something particular on arrival, such as a car waiting at the private terminal or a quieter departure time, tell us when you book and we will work to arrange it. You can read how we check every operator on our safety page.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Las Vegas-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Harry Reid International (KLAS), formerly McCarran, is the only airport in the Las Vegas area with customs, so a flight arriving from abroad lands there first. None of the Clark County airports have a curfew, but the towers at Henderson Executive (KHND) and North Las Vegas (KVGT) close in the evening, so a late departure from either one takes a little more planning. On the biggest event weekends, such as Formula 1 in November and the NBAA business aviation convention in October, the FAA requires a parking reservation for every private aircraft at Harry Reid, Henderson Executive and North Las Vegas, and for some events at Boulder City too, and the reservations go first come, first served. In summer, the heat can limit how much an aircraft carries on a hot afternoon, so a morning departure is often the easier choice.
