Piston aircraft are among the aircraft Jet Charter Vegas arranges for trips to and from Las Vegas. The types we arrange seat 3 to 9 passengers, with published ranges from 730 to 1,480 nautical miles. Which one suits your trip depends on the passenger count, the baggage, the distance and the airports at both ends.
Typical Aircraft
The types we arrange in this category are Beech Baron 58, Beechcraft Baron G58, Cessna 340, Cirrus SR22, Piper Aerostar 600, Piper Cherokee Six PA-32, Piper Navajo PA-31 (Cheyenne / Chieftain), Piper PA-23 Aztec and Piper Saratoga PA-32R.
When a Piston Aircraft Fits a Las Vegas Trip
Piston aircraft cover the shortest trips out of Las Vegas, to small airports where a larger aircraft would be more than the trip needs. Most have two to five seats, and summer heat cuts into what they can carry, so tell us who is flying and what they are bringing.
Cabin size, baggage space and range vary across these 9 types, so send us the details and we will narrow the list down for you.
Whether a particular aircraft can use a particular airport on your date depends on its weight and that day’s temperature and wind. The operator works that out, and your advisor will confirm it before anything is booked.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Las Vegas-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Harry Reid International (KLAS), formerly McCarran, is the only airport in the Las Vegas area with customs, so a flight arriving from abroad lands there first. None of the Clark County airports have a curfew, but the towers at Henderson Executive (KHND) and North Las Vegas (KVGT) close in the evening, so a late departure from either one takes a little more planning. On the biggest event weekends, such as Formula 1 in November and the NBAA business aviation convention in October, the FAA requires a parking reservation for every private aircraft at Harry Reid, Henderson Executive and North Las Vegas, and for some events at Boulder City too, and the reservations go first come, first served. In summer, the heat can limit how much an aircraft carries on a hot afternoon, so a morning departure is often the easier choice.
